What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon
What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon is a remarkable love story. The story of this book is based on Anne Gallagher who grew up listening to her grandfather’s captivated stories of Ireland. These stories are from the era of Ireland when her grandfather was young. The death of grandfather broke her. So, she moves to her childhood home to spread his ashes. But, something unexpected happens to her.
She was pulled into another time i.e. the time 1921 Ireland when war can occur anytime. When wakes up, she finds herself hurt and under the protection of Dr. Thomas Smith, caretaker of a boy who has some kind of unknown relation with her. His mother has been missing for long but Anne convinced everyone to be his missing mother. After a time, Thomas joins the struggle of Ireland Independence. Now, Anne is stuck between selecting her heart’s feelings or history. Though, in the end, she makes a good choice.
What the Wind Knows Book Reviews:
“A Romance across Time”. This book ruined my night for good. I finished reading this book in the evening but my mind doesn’t. All the characters and the era of Irish Independence were in my head all over the night. I am not so much history lover but this book excites me to gain some knowledge of history. The love between Anne and Thomas is just irresistible. It is a splendid tale of war, love, and family.

It is not a piece of my cake. After reading this book, I am sure that historical novels are not meant for me. If you are a happy reader of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander, you are going to love it. As per my opinion, What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon never elaborates the clear view about the acceptance of different time period. However, I loved the way of expressing the story as by author. The part of Ireland Independence played a major role in it but the love story of Anne and Thomas is not emphasized properly. I would have loved if the author has supplied more feelings to their love story.
